Using Interfolio's ByCommittee service, applicants can create an account (or simply use their existing account) and submit their application materials directly to the website. The account and application submission are FREE for applicants. Just go to the fellowship page and select "Apply Now" on the right side of the page.

Required Application Materials

The application materials must all be submitted electronically via Interfolio. The entire process is free for all applicants.

1) Completion of online application questions

2) Project description of 500-2,000 words and itemized budget (include the TOTAL amount of funding requested in U.S. dollars). Note that applications for sabbatical support DO NOT require a budget. Applicants for excavation expenses should indicate whether they are submitting a one-time application, or whether they expect to continue to apply for funds in subsequent years. In either case, applicants must include a detailed budget. Maps and other illustrative materials are also welcome. Applicants requesting a renewal of excavation expenses should include detailed information on the work supported by the Loeb Foundation in prior years.

3) Curriculum vitae listing publications and scholarly activity (limit: 6 pages)

4) Three confidential letters of recommendation submitted directly by referees via Interfolio: The letters themselves OR the specific letter requests must be attached/linked to your application before submission. Referees can submitted their letters at any time after receiving a request from Interfolio. Letters of recommendation are due on or before November 3, 2023.

IMPORTANT: Applicants should receive an initial confirmation email from Interfolio immediately upon submission. If you do not receive one, make sure your application was actually submitted. Note that either three letters of recommendation or three recommendation requests MUST be attached/linked to your application before it can be submitted. See Interfolio help or reach out to help@interfolio.com for assistance.

Applicants will receive a final confirmation email from lclf@fas.harvard.edu later in November or December when all three letters of recommendation have been received.
